In the processing of zirconia ceramics, the content of precision zirconia ceramic raw materials can be close to one hundred percent. Due to the very high precision, precision zirconia has a sintering temperature close to two thousand degrees Celsius. Generally, during the production process, high-temperature molten glass is used instead of platinum crucibles. Its translucency is very high, and it can resist the corrosion of alkaline metals. Because of this advantage, it is used in the production of sodium lamps. In addition, in the field of electronic processing production, it is generally used to make circuit boards or to produce high-frequency insulating materials.

The content of zirconia in ordinary zirconia ceramics is much lower than that in precision zirconia ceramics, generally between eighty-five and ninety-five percent. Although the content of zirconia is lower, it still has certain insulating characteristics and can resist a certain strength of acid and alkali corrosion. Its high-temperature resistance is relatively good, but in practical application fields, it is subject to certain limitations, which depends on the specific production processing environment and the required indicators of zirconia ceramics.

Zirconia ceramic processing is generally divided into dry pressing forming and slip casting forming. The dry pressing forming process is relatively complex and requires hydraulic or mechanical equipment. The forming can achieve semi-automation and full automation. The hydraulic method is more mature than mechanical processing, has better quality, and is easier to control during the production process, with more mature and advanced manufacturing processes. Slip casting forming uses gypsum molds, into which zirconia slurry is injected. The production process requires the addition of a binder, thorough grinding, venting, and then pouring into the gypsum mold to obtain the processed and formed product.
